Tasks – Cantor’s Meats has been a household name in Winnipeg for generations. They are known for being a top quality butcher with choice cuts of meat as well as being very affordable. They serve the community from their store and the entire city of Winnipeg by delivery, plus they offer food mail to several remote communities.

In celebration of their 65 year they opened a spectacular new store on Logan, right behind the original location on Gallagher as well as launched a new web site to expand upon their services. They needed a well designed website that can promote the company and offer an easy way for their customers to order, and the option to expand the site in the future.

We built the site using the Zen Cart e-commerce platform. The site is currently only accepting email orders, for ease of use, but plans to load up the online store with a huge selection of products to make online ordering even more roobust.

The site also offers regular flyer updates with the flyer distributed in the Free Press, plus any correction notices, a complete company history, along with PDF downloads of Free Press articles from the past showing the companies strong traditions.

A site well worth using, bookmarking and visiting often. Especially if you are in Winnipeg.

This was posted two years ago and the zen cart is still not live? What happened? Was the cart too complicated for the customer? Other problems with using zencart?

    Hi Daniel.

The site was live with ZenCart for 2 months before we removed the e-commerce functionality. there were no problems with ZenCart itself. It was far more powerful that they could have hoped for. Site was still using ZenCart though, but just as a static website. The client wanted full e-commerce, but after getting it they realized it was far more than they and their customers needed. They have since moved on.
