Tasks: Looking through my archives I am a little surprised I have not posted about Will’s site before. Will Cruz has been a client of mine since early 2007 when he came to me looking to redesign his band site and expand upon it.
What he had, was essentially a simple Flash based slideshow style site. Nothing too fancy, a little slow to load, and set to full screen so it appeared a little stretched. Biggest drawbacks were that it was outdated and not easy to update, not good for search engines, and each page opened in a new window.
He needed it redesigned to be easier to update, more friendly to users and search engines, and expanded upon to include extensive media galleries.
What he got was a whole new site with a tribal beach feel to it. Very colourful, including some custom vector artwork, as well as an animated Flash splash page, with audio. Each page features Flash audio as well.
We have constantly been expanding upon the site as well. It has an extensive media gallery with many band photo’s, Flash video of shows played and TV interviews (downloadable as well), plus songs to listen to streaming via Flash, with downloadable MP3’s.
A band booking form has been added to make it easier to book the band online, with Paypal payments.
In addition as time goes on the site has evolved to include several other band projects that Will is working on including Big Dub Style Sound, Small Caribbean Combo, Afro Latin Jazz, Goin’ Native and UCHAN.
It also features regular updates to show dates and times, as well as current promotions to get discounts when booking the band or referring other people to book the band.
